Ola Ghanem and Dolly Shaheen partners in "Intimate Relationships".
Director Mu'nis Al Shorbaji chose Egyptian actress Ola Samir Ghanem and Lebanese singer Dolly Shaheen to play the leading roles in his new film "Alaqat Sakhinah" (Intimate Relationships).The story of the new film revolves around a romantic relationship between two women. The film is among a new phase of daring films emerging in the Arab world.
Al Shorbaji said that "Intimate Relationships" portrays a real emotional love story between two women for the first time in the Arab World. There are scenes with sexual content between the two lovers, but they are not graphic, said Al Shorbaji.
The film "Heen Maysarah," directed by Khaled Yousif, is well known for it graphic sexual content depicting a gay relationship between two women.
The film was created by Majid Al Sharif and Muhammad Al Baher.
Ola Ghanem plays the wealthy lover and Dolly Shaheen the less well off lover.
The budget for the film is close to 5 million Egyptian Pounds and will be filmed in Cairo and Sharm Al Sheikh.
