Regulators in Oklahoma have raised concerns about rising quake insurance premiums in the state.

Regulators said that they were concerned with spiking rates for earthquake insurance coverage and diminishing competition among insurers. They said that they could require firms to submit plans for proposed rate increases for prior approval.

Oklahoma is facing a higher number of earthquakes because of an increase in oil and natural gas disposal wells.
