Oklahoma Bankers Association installs Frazier Henke as new chairman.

EDMOND (JR) Frazier Henke, president and CEO of America Bank & Trust Co. in Tulsa, was inducted as chairman of the Oklahoma Bankers Association at the OBA's 122nd annual convention and trade show at the Edmond Convention Center in Edmond.

Henke has been with the bank for 20 years. He is the immediate past chairman of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and serves on the boards of CommunityCare Managed Health Plans of Oklahoma, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Foundation, the Committee of 100-Tulsa Inc. and on the executive committees of INCOG, the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Tulsa County Republican Party.

Kyle Hughbanks, president of BancCentral of Alva, was elected as first vice chairman of the association. He will move into the vice chairman's seat, currently occupied by Rick Walker, CEO of Liberty National Bank, Lawton, next year and into the chairman's spot in 2021.

The OBA membership elected bankers to six seats on the association's board of directors. The new directors, who will serve three-year board terms, are Matt Jackson, Bank of the West, Thomas; Jay Randels, Community Bank, Alva; Mike Lyles, First National Bank of Coweta, Coweta; Donald Sherman, McClain Bank, Purcell; Alicia Wade, Valliance Bank, Oklahoma City; and Ted Cundiff, AVB Bank, Broken Arrow.

Nine board directors completing their terms were recognized for their years of service. Honored were Guy Sims, Shamrock Bank NA, Coalgate; Stuart Sander, Security State Bank, Cheyenne; Bruce Boehs, Farmers & Merchants National Bank, Fairview; Robert Jennings, Peoples National Bank, Checotah; Bryan Cain, Security State Bank, Wewoka; Joey Root, First Liberty Bank, Oklahoma City; Mark Poole, First National Bank and Trust Co., Broken Arrow; Doug Tippens, BancFirst, Oklahoma City; and Bill Schonacher, IBC Bank, Oklahoma City.

Four bankers were inducted into the OBA's 50-Year-Club for having banking careers of 50 years or more: Gilbert Gibson, IBC Bank, Oklahoma City; Neely Kimbrough, AVB Bank, Broken Arrow; Basil Taylor, First State Bank, Watonga; and Brad Swickey, Valliance Bank, Oklahoma City.

Five bankers were honored for their service as chairpersons of OBA school boards. Honored were: Ron Witherspoon, Arvest Bank, Oklahoma City, Basic Banking & Intermediate Schools; David Attaway, Great Plains Bank, Moore, Commercial Lending School; Jeff Hammock, Vision Bank, Durant, Consumer Lending School; Kathryn Ivey, Shamrock Bank NA, Coalgate, Compliance School; and Bonnie Lemons, Shamrock Bank, Coalgate, Operations School.

Five bankers were honored for their service as chairpersons of the committees and boards: Randy Waters, First National Bank, Shawnee, Agriculture Committee; Larry Briggs, First National Bank, Shawnee, PAC Committee; Frazier Henke, America Bank & Trust Co., Tulsa, Government Relations Council; Callie Troglin, Legacy Bank, Oklahoma City, Women In Banking Committee; and Leigh-Anne Taylor, NBC Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Fraud Committee.

The OBA represents 200 banks across the state.
