Oki to ship Bluetooth system packages next month.
Japan's Oki Electric Industry Co Ltd is to begin shipments of its new Bluetooth-based system packages - comprising an LSI chipset, protocol software and a system development kit - in July.
The LSI chipset in the packages is integrated with two LSIs - a CMOS-based RF transceiver LSI and a baseband controller LSI - to help minimise RF external components. The packages also incorporate a variety of logic interfaces including USB and UART.
Oki expects the sales of these packages to reach approximately USD100m in its fiscal year 2002.
