1. WATERGATE BAY, A CORNWALL IF you yearn for an adrenaline rush, you'll love this bay between Padstow and Newquay.

The two-mile beach is t a surfer's paradise offering windsurfing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing and other water and beach sports. If you're a beginner you can learn the basics at the Extreme Academy, where a half-day introduction costs PS30.
