Officials wait on Wether forecast.

WETHERBY officials are crossing their fingers they miss the worst of the predicted frost ahead of tomorrow's meeting featuring the totepool.com Towton Novices' Chase.

The West Yorkshire course has been virtually frost free all week, but temperatures were set to dip with no thaw in sight before raceday.

"We will just have to see what happens,'' said clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson.

Ffos Las are pulling out all the stops to stage their big fixture tomorrow, highlighted by the Welsh Champion Hurdle.

The entire racecourse is covered in protective fleeces to keep as much frost out of the turf as possible.
