Officers should bring more property units into tax net: Mukesh Kumar Chawla.

KARACHI -- Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that Excise and Taxation Department Sindh is planning to create a separate Property Tax Division for areas located on Super Highway (left side from Karachi) from Sohrab Goth, comprising Ahsanabad, Maymar Housing Society, Bahria Town and other housing societies located in the vicinity to bring them into property tax net properly. This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Monday. Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Director HQ Shahabuddin Khatri, Director Taxes and other officers also attended the meeting. He directed the officers concerned to conduct a visual field survey of the built-up property units ready to be assessed for property tax in Bahria Town, Karachi and furnish category wise details of Commercial, Industrial and Residential units with a similar consolidated exclusive details for Maymar Housing Society and all other societies at Super Highway in couple of weeks. Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla asked the officers to pay full attention to the issue and bring more property units into property tax net and generate more revenue for the government. He asked them to work hard and warned them that no lethargic and would be tolerated in this regard.
