Adam Oehlers has skilfully created whimsical, magical illustrations for a fantastical story which has an age old message about how dancing can make our friendships happier. Consequently, our communities, and the natural environment around us, flourish.

Celeste, lonely at first at her new school, makes friends with Nick. This lifts her spirits and she begins to dance at home in her room, entering an amazing fantasy world where lizards are orange and possums can be purple. Then she persuades Nick to dance. The story ends with a joyous communal dancing party...

This book is immediately enticing to look at and hold with illustrations to tempt the reader. The text is more extended than in some picture books but, despite the wonderland milieu, is well grounded in every day idiom.
