October taxable removals up 7.5%

Total taxable removals in October 1990 totaled 15.38 million barrels, which was 7.5-percent, or 1.06 million barrels more than last year's total of 14.31 million. The total barrelage through the first 10 months of 1990 was 157.1 million barrels, or 2.1-percent more than in 1989.

Eleven of the 17 states and combination groupings showed increases in October with New Jersey again reporting the largest increase; 408,691 barrels. The largest decrease was reported in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland and South Carolina; 175,847 barrels.

All of the four geographical areas reported increases, the largest being the New England & Mid Atlantic region; 14.8 percent. The smallest increase was in the East North Central region; 3.3 percent.
