Observer AB to appeal raised tax assessment.

NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-31 March 2006-Observer AB to appeal raised tax assessment(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Swedish communication management and business intelligence company Observer AB said on Friday (31 March) that it would appeal against a decision on raised tax assessment.

The County Administrative Court had upheld the Swedish tax authorities' earlier decision to raise Observer's taxable income for the year 2000 by some SEK440m, which would result in tax costs of SEK173m.

The decision concerns the sale of Sifo Research & Consulting, the company added.

Observer is of the opinion that the decision is groundless and believes that the prospects of winning on appeal are good.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
