AWRD Vice-Chairwoman Maysaa Salahi said "the center hosts battered women for 3 to 6 months or more.
We have about 15 -- 20 women," attributing this low number to the fear of these women that they might be threatened by their families which makes things worse.
Member of the AWRD Board of Directors Dr.
Hani Khouri hoped that the center receive support and assistance to face main challenges of providing houses for these women and some money to help them go on with their lives along with their children.
The center is equipped to accommodate 30 women.
