OWENS-CORNING TO RESPOND TO FTC REQUEST

 TOLEDO, Ohio, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation (NYSE: OCF) announced today that both Owens-Corning and Schuller International Inc., a subsidiary of Manville Corporation (NYSE: MVL) have received a request from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for additional information under the provisions of the Hart-Scott- Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act. This request is in connection with the companies' previously announced plans to exchange Owens-Corning's commercial roofing businessand Schuller's residential roofing business.
 Owens-Corning will provide the information promptly. The FTC request will extend the Hart-Scott-Rodino waiting period until 20 days after delivery of the requested information, unless the FTC decides to terminate the waiting period earlier.
