OVER $2.1 MILLION IN LUXURY AUTOMOBILES SHOWCASED
BY BRITISH MANUFACTURERS AT DETROIT SHOW
DETROIT, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- An industry-wide display of British- built luxury automobiles sold in the United States will be one of the highlights of the International Auto Show in Detroit in January.
The joint exhibit, sponsored by The British Automobile Manufacturers Association, will feature 16 automobiles with a total retail value of over $2.1 million. Models on display include Jaguar, Lotus, Range Rover, Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars.
Special features on the BAMA stand include a concept car from Lotus and a limited production high-powered sporting motor car from Jaguar. Range Rover promises a surprise model and Rolls-Royce will show its new limousine for the first time in the U.S. The Detroit show will also be the first public showing in this country of the Bentley Continental R, also built by Rolls-Royce.
Said Howard Mosher, president of BAMA and of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Inc., "We are joining forces to showcase the craftsmanship and engineering excellence exhibited by the British motor car industry in today's products and developed over the past century." Mosher added, "A joint exhibit provides the manufacturers with a much greater impact than if each had a separate stand."
The motor cars will be displayed under the banner, "Motorcars from Great Britain."
The North American International Auto Show will be held at the Cobo Exhibition Center in Detroit and will be open to the public Jan. 11-19.
