OUT WITH THE MOULD.
We get black marks around the top of the ceiling of our flat roof extension. Would putting insulation between the ceiling and roof stop the mould? Yes it will help. Take extra care to insulate where the ceiling connects to the wall as it will be particularly cold. For access, remove the part of the ceiling that is black as it will be damaged anyway. When removing the plasterboard, find a joint between the boards and use a saw to cut out a section between the joists and, once insulation is installed, use timber to dwang the opening, then fix the new plasterboard. Tape, fill, then paint.
