OSICOM VACCINATES PERSONAL COMPUTERS
OSICOM VACCINATES PERSONAL COMPUTERS ROCKAWAY, N.J., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Osicom Technologies, Inc.
(NASDAQ: OSIC) announced today that it has begun shipping Virus Protection software with all of its personal computers. The software offers protection against computer viruses which can have the capability of destroying stored data or interfering with the running of software programs.
"All computers are vulnerable to viruses. The method of transmission is usually through software sharing. Anytime you transfer data or software from one system to another, you are vulnerable. A majority of computer users will eventually become infected if they do not get vaccinated. We decided to offer our customers protection at the gate with pre-loaded Virus Protection with every system that we ship," said Par Chadha, president and chief executive officer of Osicom. In response to queries regarding the probability of new viruses being able to pass undetected through the software protection offered, Chadha responded: "Since we've been using Virus Protection we haven't had any problems, but there are some very insidious programmers out there working around the clock on these bugs. We can assure our customers, however, that we'll be working on mutating the vaccine just as fast as they can mutate the virus." Osicom is a computer manufacturer headquartered in Rockaway. -0- 1/28/92 /CONTACT: Sharon Chadha of Osicom Technologies, 201-586-2550/ (OSIC) CO: Osicom Technologies Inc.
