 ORION PICTURES CORPORATION MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT
 NEW YORK, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Orion Pictures Corporation


(NYSE: OPC) announced today that it has established Tuesday, October 20, 1992, as the record date for determining the holders of its securities entitled to receive distributions under its Third Amended Joint Consolidated Plan of Reorganization dated September 3, 1992. The October 20 record date will apply to shares of Orion's Common Stock and its Series B Preferred Stock, as well as to its Senior Subordinated Reset Notes Due August 15, 1998, 10 percent Subordinated Debentures Due February 1, 1994, 11 percent Subordinated Sinking Fund Debentures Due July 1, 1998, 10 percent Subordinated Sinking Fund Debentures Due March 1, 1999, 6 percent Class A Senior Subordinated Note Due February 8, 1992 and 12 percent Class B Senior Subordinated Note Due February 8, 1992. The record date for Orion's securities is being set in advance of a hearing before the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, currently scheduled for October 20, 1992, with respect to the confirmation of the Plan of Reorganization.
