OPTICAL DATA SYSTEMS TO PROVIDE INFINITY HUBS FOR INTEROPnet

 DALLAS, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Optical Data Systems Inc. (ODS) (NASDAQ-NMS: ODSI) announced today that it will supply the intelligent switching hubs for the 1993 INTEROPnet(TM) at INTEROP(R) 93 August in San Francisco Aug. 25-27, 1993. All supplied equipment will be from the Infinity(TM) Intelligent Switching Hub line introduced by ODS in January 1993. ODS will supply 12, 7, and 4 slot Infinity hubs with Ethernet(R), Token Ring and FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) module cards.
 The INTEROPnet is used to demonstrate interoperability between vendors via show network drops which are available to all show participants. The network is comprised of 80 miles of UTP cable, 60 miles of coaxial cable and 10 miles of fiber optic cable. ODS will supply Infinity hubs with the capability of providing over 1,500 Ethernet ports, 900 Token Ring ports and 200 FDDI ports. Also supplied will be SNMP-based Ethernet and Token Ring Network Controller cards. There are over 500 vendors exhibiting at Fall 1993 INTEROP.
