OPENonline Launches New Web Interface.

Business Editors

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2003

OPENonline, LLC, a leading provider of online background checks for businesses and law enforcement agencies, has launched a new Web interface with a more powerful search engine that makes data searching quicker and easier. The company also has expanded its national and regional public records to increase the amount of information available. These enhancements make it easier for businesses to screen job applicants and validate information reported on employment applications.

OPENonline president and CEO Glenn Jacobs said Oregon-based businesses will find the system particularly powerful because it has a direct, real-time link to OJIN, the Oregon Judicial Information Network, which houses statewide court records, including criminal and civil offense information. It also provides statewide criminal conviction information from the Department of Corrections and gives qualified individuals access to online driving record information from Oregon's Division of Motor Vehicles. Jacobs said users benefit from the 2001 merger of Oregon-based Commercial Information Systems (CIS) and Ohio-based OPENonline that brought together CIS's direct links to public records in the Northwest and OPENonline's broad offering of criminal records.

OPENonline also offers a number of other employment screening products including national driving records, statewide criminal conviction records, county criminal conviction records for all U.S. counties and online integrity testing. For employers, the company offers an automated employment screening product called SelectHire that allows users to instantly conduct a Social Security number validation, ID and telephone number verification, bankruptcy check and criminal record search.

"In a matter of seconds, an employer can determine whether an applicant has falsified information and uncover inconsistencies that require further investigation," Jacobs said.

OPENonline LLC, a Web-based employment screening company, was founded in 1992 to provide secure distribution of data to support sound business decisions. The information available through OPENonline is reserved for corporate clients, businesses, law enforcement and government agencies with legitimate needs and is not available to the general public. OPENonline offers the nation's largest compilation of criminal records, most online for immediate access.
