ONLINE MAGAZINE FROM ABA TORT & INSURANCE PRACTICE SECTION.
The American Bar Association (Chicago, IL) Tort and Insurance Practice (TIP) section has begun the production of e-Dicta (abanet.org/tips/edicta), a new quarterly online magazine. Tag-lined "timely articles and practice tips to help you in your profession," the publication is designed to be a online companion to ITP's print publication The Brief. Access is free.The new site is being targeted to plaintiff and defense counsel, in-house insurance industry counsel, risk managers and related professionals.
Editorial for the first issue of the magazine included stories on: preparing for trial; the legal and practical considerations of electronic monitoring in the workplace; identifying, bringing and winning a False Claims Act case; the attorney-client privilege in a bad-faith case; a fifty-state survey of statutes, rules, regulations and case law on sureties as insurers; and, the evolution of surety claims handling.
The publication also includes a link to a five-year archive of The Brief articles, a digest of articles from past issues and commentary columns. Established in 1971, The Brief is a quarterly magazine that carries articles and practice tips on insurance, negligence and tort law.
