Lisa Hannigan - Sea Sew Having cut her teeth as Damien Rice's vocal partner, Hannigan knows a thing or two about lushly orchestrated folk music. Here she places her warm, honeyed tones amid a deftly assembled backing of strings, horns and lightly strummed guitars.

Rice's soaring style is an obvious reference point, but on Venn Diagram she summons the collective energy of the Reindeer Section. With Courting Blues, she aims for the arty heights of Joni Mitchell and comes surprisingly close.

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers/Goat's Head Soup/It's Only Rock 'n' Roll/Black And Blue For bands of a certain vintage the ongoing re-release/re-mastering process can be a very lucrative form of nostalgia. Here, the Stones present four of their early 1970s records for re-evaluation and the result is largely celebratory. Black and Blue is a slightly ramshackle outing, but is rescued by the gorgeous Hands Of Fate and Fool To Cry. A listen to the spruced up Goats Head Soup, meanwhile, shows the band's flirtations with soul and funk. It's Only Rock 'n' Roll is all bar-room refrains and bellowed choruses, but it is Sticky Fingers - home of stone-cold classics Wild Horses, Sway and Brown Sugar - which remains the gem..
