ON FATHER'S DAY -- TURN THE TABLES

NEW YORK, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Or, perhaps, the dining room table...by treating Dad to a special breakfast befitting your king for the day. Bring out the colorful placemats, quality china and sparkling glasses for his favorite juice. Brew up the coffee just the way he likes it and make one of the easy, festive dishes below -- both are guaranteed man-pleasers the entire family will enjoy.
Executive French Toast can even be streamlined (without sacrificing flavor), if Dad is watching his waist line and/or cholesterol count. Just substitute mellow, nutty, deceptively rich tasting Jarlsberg Lite cheese -- it also melts readily in cooking -- to significantly trim calories, sodium and fat.
He-Man Hash calls for roast beef and classic Jarlsberg -- also made from part-skim milk -- or spicier, delicately seasoned Nokkelost cheese sparked with cloves, cumin and caraway. You know his taste preferences, and either version is a winner.
That evening, why not take him out to dinner...?
 Executive French Toast
4 eggs, slightly beaten 1/4 cup butter or margarine
 1-1/2 cups milk Confectioners sugar
1 cup shredded Jarlsberg OR Orange marmalade, apricot
Jarlsberg Lite cheese OR strawberry preserves
 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
8 thick slices bread (white or egg bread)
In shallow bowl or pie plate, beat together eggs and milk. Add cheese and
orange peel. Dip bread into cheese mixture to coat both sides.
In skillet or on griddle, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Add bread and grill until golden on both sides. Add remaining butter as necessary. Top with confectioners sugar and jam. Makes 4 servings.
 He-Man Hash
1 medium onion, chopped 2 teaspoons Worcestshire
2 tablespoons butter or margarine sauce
3 cups diced cooked corned or 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
roast beef 1/8 teaspoon (freshly) ground
2 cups diced cooked potatoes pepper
 4 eggs (optional)
 1 cup shredded Jarlsberg or
 Nokkelost cheese
In large oven-proof skillet, cook onion in butter over low heat 5 minutes, stirring often. Add beef, potatoes and Worcestershire sauce. Cook 10 minutes, until browned on bottom. Turn and cook 5 minutes longer, to brown other side. Add parsley and pepper.
Make 4 indentations in hash. Break eggs into these "wells."(Note A) Top with 1/2 cup cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 5 minutes or until eggs have reached desired doneness. Top with remaining cheese. Makes 4 servings.
Note A -- Or eliminate eggs and top hash with entire cup of cheese. Bake until cheese is just melted and bubbling.
