OMIFCO Opens New Urea Plant.

Sur, Feb 6 (ONA) --- Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) today opened a new Urea plant in a ceremony held under the auspices of Dr. Fu'ad bin Ja'afar al-Sajwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries. Opening the plant aims at supplying enough fertilizers to local farmers, as well as meeting the demands of local markets in different parts of the Sultanate. OMIFCO in collaboration with Takamul Investment Company, has delivered to local markets (25850) urea sacks, equivalent to 1,3 metric ton, in competitive prices and there is a tendency to supply 30,000 metric tons in 50 KG sacks during 2012. Urea fertilizer is a friendly natural compound necessary to obtain optimum crops if used by local farmers would ensure high quality crops, thus giving them a privilege in local and international markets, as well as its effective role in enhancing food security in the Sultanate. --- Ends/ MN/ KH
