OLSTEN STAFFING SERVICES APPOINTS GREG PALMER SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, NORTHEAST; NEW SENIOR VP WINS SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD

 WESTBURY, N.Y., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Olsten Staffing Services, a leading personnel provider in North America, announced today that promotion of Greg Palmer to senior vice president of its northeast division encompassing 88 offices in 12 states. The announcement was made by Stuart Olsten, president and chief operating officer, The Olsten Corporation (AMEX: OLS).
 Palmer, age 36, who has been with Olsten for eight years, started as branch manager in Louisville, Ky., and moved up through the ranks to the position of vice president, southeast, responsible for 28 offices extending from the District of Columbia to Dallas. He was one of only three of the corporation's line managers to receive a special recognition award for management excellence at the company's 1993 conventions.
 "Line managers play an integral role in the growth of Olsten branches and in developing new markets," Palmer said. "The award was a tremendous vote of confidence in the team I've put together. It's a reflection of the quality of my staff and the tremendous job they've done."
 A graduate of Morehead State University and a Louisville resident, Palmer and his family will relocate to the northeast.
 The Olsten Corporation, under its trade names Olsten Staffing Services, Olsten HealthCare, and Olsten Professional Accounting Services, has a network of approximately 700 offices locate throughout North America, which employs 388,000 assignment employees and caregivers who serve more than 185,000 client accounts.
