 OLIVER STONE TO RECEIVE 'DIRECTOR OF THE DECADE' AWARD
 FROM CHICAGO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, APRIL 24
 BURBANK, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Multiple Academy Award- winning filmmaker Oliver Stone, director of 1991's most talked-about film, Warner Bros.' "JFK," will be presented with the Chicago International Film Festival's "Director of the Decade" award April 24 in Chicago.
 Chicago-based film critic Roger Ebert will present Stone with the award at a banquet that will include a panel discussion on the JFK conspiracy and the role of media and film. Frank Mankiewicz, former press secretary to Robert Kennedy, will be among the panelists.
 The ceremony, which will benefit the year-round activities of the Chicago International Film Festival, will be held at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.
 Said festival founder and artistic director Michael Kutza of Stone, "No director has so moved a generation with his insight and his ability. He writes, he produces, he directs, he is a true master of the medium."
 Since 1974, Stone has directed, written and/or produced some of the most controversial, yet highly acclaimed, films in American cinema. Seven pictures Stone worked on have been nominated for or won Academy Awards: "Midnight Express," "Salvador," "Platoon," "Wall Street," "Born on the Fourth of July," "Reversal of Fortune" and "JFK." Stone personally has been nominated as a writer five times (won for "Midnight Express"), as a director three times (won for "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July") and as a producer twice. His films have been nominated 33 times. Most recently, "JFK" won two Academy Awards.
 Additionally, Stone has won two Directors Guild Awards, one Writers Guild Award, three Golden Globe Awards for directing and one for writing.
