COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Lt. Colonel Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran/Contra controversy, will discuss his return visit to Vietnam to see the people he fought against and with during his tenure as a Marine Corps officer in a live online conference on the CompuServe Information Service on Monday, Nov. 15, from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. EST.
CompuServe members can watch North's interview on their computer screen in CompuServe's Convention Center, then participate in a moderated
question-and-answer session. He will address why he returned to Vietnam, the lessons of the Vietnam War and how America can deal with its memory.
North is the author of the new book "One More Mission: Oliver North Returns to Vietnam." North served for 20 years in the U.S. Marines, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was decorated with the Silver Star for gallantry in action, the Bronze Star for Valor and two Purple Hearts for wounds in action. His previous book, "Under Fire: An American Story," has sold more than 500,000 copies and reached the number one position on The New York Times bestseller list.
The North interview is the first in a series of interactive online talk shows on CompuServe to be hosted by Eliot Stein, publisher and editor of the Hollywood Hotline and Showbiz Forum areas on CompuServe, and radio talk show host.
"The interactive talk shows will consist of interviews with celebrities, authors, experts and people in the news," Stein said. "CompuServe members who participate will have a direct link to newsmakers from a variety of fields."
