OLDSMOBILE DEALERS POST MARCH SALES GAINS
LANSING, Mich., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Oldsmobile dealers reported

a 9-percent gain with new vehicle deliveries of 44,050 cars and trucks in March over a year ago, said David E. Lahti, general sales and service manager for the division. For the final 10 days of March, Oldsmobile sales of 18,459 were up 13 percent over the same period in 1991.
Oldsmobile's all-new compact Achieva posted its best sales month since its introduction in January with sales of 9,363 for the month. Achieva also noted its highest 10-day period with sales of 3,951 for March 21-31.

"Our new Achieva continues to gain momentum and is really a 'hot' car for Oldsmobile dealers," said Lahti. "We've done some smart pricing on the Achieva to make it a great value in the compact market segment and, with the help of our dealers, we've also done some very intelligent marketing on the Achieva which has helped to increase showroom traffic."
Oldsmobile calendar-year sales through March stand at 108,062 compared to 103,539 for the same period in 1991.
