OIC Secretary General Condemns Terrorist Attack at Turkish-Syrian Border.

Jeddah, Rabi'II 4, 1434, Feb 14, 2013, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on 11 February 2013 on the Cilvegozu border point between Turkey and Syria which led to loss of number of lives and injured some others.

The Secretary General expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the Government and people of Turkey and prayed for the quick recovery of the wounded.

While drawing attention of the international community to the growing threat to peace and security in the region due to the ongoing bloodshed in Syria, the Secretary General reiterated his support for the Government of Turkey in its efforts to fighting against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

He also renewed his call for all parties in Syria to refrain from using violence and encouraged them to establish dialogue towards finding a social and political solution by taking into careful consideration the legitimate expectations of all segments of the Syrian society.
