OGDCL employees contribute two-day salary for flood victims.

ISLAMABAD, August 18, 2010 (Balochistan Times): The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) employees have donated two-day salary worth Rs 13.8 million for rehabilitation of flood affected people. The cheque was presented to Managing Director Muhammad Naeem Malik who joined the company this week in a meeting held at OGDCL House, here on Wednesday. The MD who is also CEO appreciated generous gesture of the companys Officers Associations and All Pakistan Mazdoor Ittehad Union, CBA representatives for the initiative. He sated that the amount donated by OGDCL employees would help to ease the woes of the flood affected people who were in urgent need of food and shelter. He also prayed Almightily Allah for early recovery of those injured and added that company would continue extending support to full rehabilitation of the affected people. He said hoped that OGDCLs employees would make all out efforts to expedite exploration and production activities more diligently at this critical juncture when the country was undergoing crisis of great magnitude due to devastating floods. Speaking in the meeting he also urged the employees to stand united and mend differences over minor issues to make the organization pragmatic and progressive. He added that OGDCL was the only organization which could change the fortune of the common man in this country. He assured he would make all possible efforts to facilitate the workers and resolve their genuine problems. He added that he has experience of 30 years in E&P sector and is well-versed with the organization and its potentials. He said that OGDCLs employees could make this organization, the largest Exploration and Production listed Company of Pakistan by their hard-work and devotion towards their duties. According an official reports the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited(OGDCL) spudded 26 wells, including 15 exploratory and 11 development wells during financial year ended on June 30, 2010. The company also made six discoveries during the year, namely Reti-1A, Maru-1, Shah-1, Dakhni-11, Naspha-1 and Baloch-1, official sources said. The company was effectively working on the on-going development projects and swift pace of progress on exploration and production fronts, the OGDCL would soon succeed in easing the countrys dependency on imported petroleum products.
