OFFSHORE PIPELINES, INC. ANNOUNCES AWARD OF NEW PROJECTS TOTALING $71 MILLION

 HOUSTON, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Offshore Pipelines, Inc. ("OPI") (NYSE: OFP) today announced that it has been awarded new marine construction projects with a total contract value of approximately $71 million. Of this amount, approximately $29 million consists of several projects in the Gulf of Mexico and approximately $42 million from international operations. Dependent upon the project, OPI will be performing the installation of pipelines, fabrication of platforms, and the salvage, refurbishment and installation of platforms and production facilities. Work on these projects will commence immediately and will be completed during the current fiscal year.
 OPI operates one of the largest marine construction fleets in the world, capable of handling a full range of large capacity and deep-water construction projects worldwide. The company is an industry leader in laying marine pipelines; installing, salvaging, and refurbishing offshore platforms; fabricating offshore platforms and their components; and providing diving services.
