OFFICER ISLO NAMED POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR
BETHESDA, Md., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Officer Andrew Islo,

Police Alarm Operator for the Milwaukee Police Department, was awarded the Police Officer of the Year Award by the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, for his outstanding service in Milwaukee over the past three decades. Islo has previously been recognized by the mayor of Milwaukee for his work in reducing false alarms.
Most recently, Islo has worked closely with members of the Wisconsin Burglar and Fire Alarm Association to reduce false alarms. With Islo's efforts, despite the large increase of alarm systems in the city, the false alarm rate in Milwaukee dropped significantly in just one year.
Said Robert Kerman, president of the Wisconsin BFAA: "I am immensely proud to have a Milwaukee officer win this prestigious award. Officer Islo's efforts are truly exceptional. His efforts in working with the Wisconsin Burglar and Fire Alarm Association's False Alarm Control Team have helped to make Milwaukee a safer place to work and live."
Islo is a father of four and grandfather of three. He served in the Army Airborne Special Forces and is active in the Milwaukee community.
The Police Officer of the Year Award is presented annually to a police officer who has made outstanding contributions to his community and worked with professional alarm dealers over the course of the past year. Islo was flown to Scottsdale for his award presentation in June.
The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, founded in 1948, is the oldest and largest trade association of the alarm industry. NBFAA represents the owners of more than 2,500 burglar and fire alarm companies.
