OFF THE RECORD; It's a slim hope for bride Cath.

CATHERINE Zeta Jones is desperately trying to lose weight to fit into a fairytale wedding dress, created by top designer Valentino.

Catherine, who marries Michael Douglas on November 18 at the Plaza Hotel, New York, wants to lose 14lbs.

The actress, who gave birth to baby Dylan last month, is working out daily with a personal trainer to slim into the size eight to 10 dress.

The lavish ceremony and reception will cost around $2million.

And Catherine is determined to look her best in the wedding photographs, which are believed to be featuring exclusively in OK! magazine.

A friend said: "Valentino will be choosing her dress because she loves him. Catherine is pulling out all the stops to look her best."

Valentino is a favourite of many top stars including Posh Spice Victoria Beckham, Elle Macpherson and Liz Hurley.

The groom also has some work to do - building bridges with eldest son Cameron. Only close friends and family have been invited to the wedding including Michael's famous dad Kirk and Catherine's Welsh relatives.

But yesterday, one friend revealed: "Cameron may stage a no-show. He and his father are definitely on the outs. Everyone is hoping they can put their differences aside."

Catherine has revealed how she watched Dylan come into the world - in a little mirror held at the foot of her bed.

She said: "We saw this little body coming out, it was fantastic."

Radiohead's net loss on new album

CHART-TOPPERS Radiohead's new album Kid A is being downloaded free on the Internet weeks ahead of its long-awaited release.

OTR got the album - due in shops on October 2 - first after we downloaded a state-of-the-art recording through the controversial Napster site yesterday.

The music sharing web company was recently closed down before a reprieve by US judges earlier this month, pending an appeal.

The band's last album OK Computer sold 4.5million copies.

Radiohead - fronted by singer Thom Yorke, above - are refusing to do interviews or release singles from the avant garde album, but have sanctioned an official free Internet release on Monday.

The band are set for two shows at Glasgow Green on September 28 and 29.

LATINO award winner Christina Aguilera has been panned for stumbling over the lingo on her Spanish album Mi Reflejo. US critic Ed Masley described her attempt to cash in on her dad's Ecuadorian roots as "forced and laughable".

Julia blacks a winner

STUNNING Julia Roberts has a dark new look.

The actress dyed her famous locks black for a glitzy Democratic Party fundraiser for Bill Clinton in New York.

And she dashed rumours of a love split when she turned up with actor boyfriend Benjamin Bratt on her arm.

They were said to have parted in July after Julia was seen kissing ex-lover Jason Patric in Los Angeles. He had been dating supermodel Christy Turlington for five years.

Julia first ran to Patric nine years ago after calling off her wedding to Kiefer Sutherland three days before the event.

Leo barred for trashing bar

LEONARDO DiCaprio has been barred from a top Los Angeles nightspot after he and his pals smashed the place up.

The Titanic star, a regular at the exclusive Fenix bar on Sunset Strip, was told not to return after a night out drinking with his pals spun out of control.

A hotel source said: "Leo knows he's not welcome back. He turned up one night with about 20 friends and they totally trashed the place.

"They smashed bottles and broke furniture. No one was impressed."

But Leo's in good company. Eccentric basketball star Dennis Rodman trashed the hotel's penthouse suite when he held a party there.

Sara puts on an oldie for wedding

SARA COX turned back the clock yesterday as she went to a wedding with her dance DJ boyfriend Jon Carter.

The Radio 1 breakfast show star wore a 40s-style sheer pink dress to the marriage of Jon's pal Alan Moseley to Tara Furlot at Finsbury Town Hall in London.

Carrying a Gucci jacket under her arm, she tenderly groomed her man before going inside.

Sara recently dumped Leeroy Thornhill of The Prodigy and met Jon at a Berlin festival.
