ODESTA SYSTEMS CORPORATION SHIPS OPEN WORKFLOW
 AND DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
NORTHBROOK, Ill., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Odesta Systems Corporation announced today the shipment of Open ODMS (Odesta Document Management Systems), the first multiplatform, client-server workflow and document management system.
Odesta Systems, the result of a management buyout of Odesta Corporation's advanced technology and ODMS business units, was formed to deliver innovative technologies to customers who want to exploit the strategic advantage of information by integrating their business and information systems.
"Open ODMS is the first in a series of products designed to help organizations radically reduce cycle time, improve quality, and compete more effectively through implementing advanced technologies that improve the dynamic of the workplace," said Daniel Cheifetz, president and chief executive officer of Odesta Systems.
Open ODMS features an object-oriented environment for creating multiplatform workgroup applications using a client-server model. It includes MS-Windows and Macintosh clients, a VAX-based server, an API module, an object-oriented SQL layer, a scripting language, and a graphical design station for portable application development. Unix server and Motif client versions will be released during the third quarter of 1992.
Open ODMS is being implemented in a wide range of mission-critical applications including proposal management, procurement, package design, technical document, commercial publishing, engineering change control and pharmaceutical new drug applications.
Odesta Systems customers include Aerojet Propulsion Division, Boeing Defense & Space Group, Harper Collins Publishers, Inc., Raytheon Company, 3M, and United Airlines.
Odesta Systems Corporation is headquartered in Northbrook, Ill., with sales offices in the San Francisco, Boston and Washington, D.C. areas.
