Raymond Allen

COTTAGE GROVE - The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Raymond Lee Allen of Cottage Grove, who died Sept. 24 of age-related causes at age 87. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home.

He was born May 9, 1922, in Tampico, Ill., to Raymond and Edith Worleins Allen. He married Edith Winn on Aug. 15, 1942. She died in 2004. His domestic partner for the past 1 1/2 years was Cloe Patton.

He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Boise during World War II. He was a truck driver for Southern Pacific.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Robinett of Creswell, Carolyn McCarty of Cottage Grove and Wanda Cox of Kent, Wash.; two sons, Neil of Sacramento and Dana of Creswell; a sister, LaVonne DePauw of Jacksonville, Ill.; and 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A son, Warren, died in December 1989.

Peter Carson

VENETA - A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Peter John Thomas Carson of Veneta, who died Sept. 22 of congestive heart failure. He was 63. A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary Madeleine Catholic Church in Portland.

He was born May 13, 1946, in Portland to John and Katherine Peters Carson.

He graduated from Grant High School in Portland and from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in political science. He worked as a vice president at Oregon Bank, and then operated his own business, Galifco Oregon, for 20 years.

Survivors include a son, John of Eugene; a daughter, Kristin Carson of Mill Valley, Calif.; a sister, Mary Carson of Portland; and a brother, John of Portland.

Robert Cowger

Robert R. Cowger of Eugene died Sept. 24 of ALS at age 79. No service is planned.

He was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Klamath Falls to John and Helena Donat Cowger.

He married Elnora Wiggins on Jan. 2, 1956, in Carson City, Nev.

He served in the military police during the Korean War. He worked as a general contractor.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Arvin Cowger of Springfield, Eric Cowger of Eugene and David Henderson of Goldsboro, N.C.; a daughter, Carole Nice of Morrisville, Pa.; and 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jean Morris

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Home in Salem for Jean L. Morris of Salem, formerly of Lane County, who died Sept. 23 at age 80.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. The family did not list a cause of death.

She was born April 8, 1929, in Hughesville, N.J., to Raymond and Mary Bowman Hager.

She married Ger-ald P. Morris on June 28, 1947. He died in 1985.

Survivors include four daughters, Judy Morris-Green of Salem, Marcia Morris of Astoria, Elizabeth Hagin of Poulsbo, Wash., and Nancy Jenks of Portland; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
