Melba Boyman

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Melba Jean Boyman of Springfield, who died Aug. 13 of age-related causes. She was 76. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

She was born April 24, 1933, in Ozan, Ark., to Chester and Eula Thornton Brown. She married William Boyman on April 20, 1968, in Tijuana, Mexico. He died April 3, 2001.

She worked as a bookkeeper and business owner, owned and operated Bill's Market with her husband until her retirement in the early 1990s.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Mansfield III of Springfield and Michael Mansfield of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Janet Terral of Springfield; a sister, Sandra Thomas of Shafler, Calif.; a brother, John Wilwi; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Steve Mansfield, died in 1956.

Kay McElvain

Edna Faye "Kay" McElvain of Eugene died Aug. 5 following a stroke. She was 63. No service is planned.

She was born March 10, 1946, in Corvallis to Edward and Faye Pockrus Wilson. She married Larry McElvain on March 8, 1975, in Reno, Nev. He died April 19, 2008.

She graduated from Springfield High School and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a sister, Cora Cline of Eugene; and a brother, Charles Wilson of Springfield.

Eunice Glaede

Eunice Alice Glaede of Eugene died Aug. 14 of age-related causes at age 88. Private family services will be held later.

She was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Tampico, Mont., to George and Lola Ferguson Fisher. She married Warren Glaede on June 12, 1943, in Minneapolis. He died Dec. 11, 1989.

She attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn., for two years and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1942. She taught elementary school and music in private schools and was later a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Warren Glaede of Mount Angel; two daughters, Marcia McGourty of Brogan in Eastern Oregon and Becky Forsman of Eugene; a sister, Lavonne Hawes of Portland; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
