The funeral will be at noon Monday, Oct. 8, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3500 W. 18th Ave., Eugene, for Robert Furtado of Eugene, who died Oct. 2 at age 18. The family chose not to list the cause of death.
Furtado was born April 19, 1989, in San Jose, Calif., to Gary and Karen Follett Furtado. He attended Churchill High School.
Survivors include his parents, of Eugene; and three sisters: Julia Furtado and Lynne Furtado, both of Eugene, and Heidi Cox of Little Rock, Ark.

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 76959 Lee Drive, Oakridge, for Nina Hoflin of Springfield. She died Sept. 28 at age 50. The family chose not to list the cause of death.
Hoflin was born June 28, 1957, in San Francisco to Nick and Vera Leontieff Semenoff. She married Darrell Hoflin on May 10, 1974, in Pleasant Hill, Calif.; they later divorced.
She attended Pleasant Hill High School in California. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her life partner of 18 years, Steve Watson; her father; two children, Renee of Oakridge and Tina of Edmonton, Alberta; a brother, Dan Semenoff of Concord, Calif.; a sister, Irene Petrie of Oakridge; and five grandchildren. Her former husband died in 2005.

COTTAGE GROVE - The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cottage Grove for Marion D. Perkins of Cottage Grove, formerly of Dorena. He died Oct. 3 of a stroke. He was 73. Visitation will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A potluck will be at the church following the service.
Perkins was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Snowflake, Ariz., to Marion and Rilla Despain Perkins. He married Dorthea Cozad on Oct. 5, 1956, in Snowflake.
Perkins graduated from high school in Snowflake. He worked as a welder for El Jay Manufacturing in Eugene for more than 15 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters: Charlotte Stroud of Eugene and Linda Lemmons of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four sons: Marion Jr. of Hamilton, Wash., David of Culp Creek, Kenneth of Cottage Grove and Charles of Eugene; two brothers: Bob and Carvel; three sisters: Darla, Anita and Terrie; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the West Lawn Mausoleum for Doyle Edwin Russell of Springfield, who died Oct. 5 of age-related causes. He was 92.
Russell was born June 3, 1915, in Sumerall, Miss., to Charles and Ollie Shade Russell. He married Eleanor Truitt on June 25, 1938, in Alamosa, Colo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a millworker for Booth-Kelly and Georgia Pacific and was business agent for the Millworker's Union for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wanda Strome of Eugene; a sister, Bertie Mae Gaines of Carlsbad, N.M.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
