Gina Harp

A celebration of life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at 305 Ewald Ave. S.E. in Salem for Gina Ann Harp of Salem, formerly of Lane County, who died Oct. 4 at age 39. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

Harp was born June 29, 1968, in Florence.

She was a music journalist and ran a record label in San Francisco in the early 1990s.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Carol and Rick Reece of Salem; two grandparents, Jo Jacobson of Florence and Granville Harp Sr. of Oklahoma; a daughter, Margo Harp-Alway of London; five sisters, Cara Reece, Lisa Harp, Sally Harp, Mary Reece Mundal and Sarah Reece-Stremtan; and a brother, Rich Reece.

Private inurnment will be in Florence. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem.

Donald Hutton

An inurnment service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Greenwood Cemetery in Leaburg for Donald P. Hutton of Eugene. He died Oct. 8 of cancer at age 65.

He was born Oct. 19, 1941, in Eugene to Frank and Fern Near Hutton. He married Gretna Conrad on June 20, 1970, in Eugene.

He attended Eugene schools. He worked in grounds maintenance at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene, then worked at Herron Forest Products as a boiler tender on the dry kiln.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Eugene; three brothers, Melvin of Springfield, Raymond of Bremerton, Wash., and Harold of Creswell; and two sisters, Phyllis Morris of Eugene and Hattie Rouse of Port Orchard, Wash.

Eric Johnson

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at S. Peter's Catholic Church in Eugene for Eric Russell Johnson of Eugene, who died Oct. 6 at age 45. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born June 6, 1962, in Arcadia, Calif., to Rodney and Gwendolyn Eaton Johnson. He married Tammy LaCuran on Aug. 2, 1986, in El Monte, Calif.

He graduated from high school in Arcadia and attended Pasadena City College for three years. He was a truck driver for WMB Trucking Company for 10 years and for Lloyd May Trucking since 1999.

Survivors include his wife; his father, of Flandreau, S.D.; his mother, Gwendolyn Johnson of Arcadia, Calif.; two grandmothers, Jeraldine Johnson, also of Flandreau, and Helen Eaton of Nyland, Calif.; three sons, Aaron, Brian and Justin, all of Eugene; a daughter, Jamie Johnson of Eugene; a sister, Cheryl Johnson of Arcadia; a brother, David, also of Arcadia; and one grandchild.

Burial will be in Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif. Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens&Funeral Home in Eugene.

Alvin Jones

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Lost Creek Grace Fellowship Church, Dexter, for Alvin Keith Jones of Salome, Ariz., formerly of Lane County, who died Aug. 7 following a heart attack. He was 55.

He was born Jan. 25, 1952, in Pleasant Hill to Delbert and Ruth Yarwood Jones.

He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and held an engineering degree from Oregon Technical Institute. He was a water well driller and owned and operated Salome Well Drilling.

Survivors include his father; five sisters, Betty Landers of Oakridge, Jackie Lund and Shirley Miller, both of Eugene, Eva Buermannof Junction City and Linda Kinman of Dexter; two brothers, Bert of Lebanon and Casey of Westf ir.

Brian Kirkpatrick

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eugene for Brian L. Kirkpatrick of Veneta. He died Oct. 2 of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident at age 37.

He was born Sept. 30, 1970, in Eugene to Roger and Kathleen Harris Kirkpatrick. He married Terri Howarth on April 16, 1994, in Eugene.

He graduated from North Eugene High School in 1988 and attended Lane Community College. He was manager of A-1 Coupling and Hose Manufacturing in Eugene and had worked for the company for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife; his parents, of Veneta; two daughters, Taylor Kirkpatrick and Devon Kirkpatrick, both of Veneta; and a brother, Scott of Springfield.

Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to a trust fund for his daughters at U.S. National Bank or to a scholarship fund for his daughters at Grace Lutheran Church.

Donald McCumsey

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield for Donald L. "Don" McCumsey of Springfield, who died Oct. 7 of cancer. He was 57.

He was born May 12, 1950, in Eugene to Robert and Catherine Rossman McCumsey. He married Susan Brayton on Nov. 15, 1973, in Eugene.

McCumsey graduated from Thurston High School in 1968 and attended one year at Lane Community College. He served as a U.S. Marine Corps reserve for four years. He worked for 22 years as an instrument technician at Weyerhaeuser.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tara Blair of Springfield; a son, Jon of Sisters; his mother, now of Springfield; a sister, Carol Headlee of Springfield; and one grandchild.

Bertha Steinke

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 10, at McMinnville United Methodist Church for Bertha Steinke of McMinnville, formerly of Springfield. She died Oct. 7 of age-related causes at age 94.

She was born Nov. 14, 1912, in Kansas. She married Walter Steinke in 1941.

She completed nurse training at Tillamook Hospital.

Survivors include a son, Allen of Carlton; two daughters, Letha Isbel of McMinnville and H. Marie Reister of Washougal, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements by Attrell's Newberg Funeral Chapel. Remembrances to Rock of Ages residence and care center building fund in McMinnville.

Harlon Strenke

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Burns's Riverside Florence Funeral Chapel for Harlon Strenke of Florence, who died Oct. 4 of heart failure at age 68. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Turtle Lake, Wis., to Carl and Laura Jensen Strenke. He married Evelyn Adams on June 1, 1961, in Washington.

Strenke served in the Navy in 1958. He had worked as a gardener.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Shawn of Florence; two daughters, Renee Green and Annette Kramer, both of Florence; two sisters, Viola Larsen and Leona Erickson, both of Cumberland, Wis.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. ?An infant son, Kevin, died in 1967.

Elinor Warren

FLORENCE - Elinor Elizabeth Warren of Florence died Oct. 1 of age-related causes. She was 80. A private family celebration was held.

She was born July 5, 1927, in Eugene to Ross and Nettie Paden. She married Calvin Warren on Feb. 22, 1947, in Eugene. He died previously.

She worked in the retail industry.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Archer of Florence and Lynette Dotson of Eugene; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
