Margaret Lettkeman

A memorial service will be held June 11 for Margaret May Lettkeman of Eugene, formerly of Florence, who died May 21 of a heart attack. She was 77.

Lettke- man was born May 3, 1928, in Leedy, Okla., to Milton and Melba Reed. She married John Lettkeman on May 5, 1946, in Oklahoma. He died July 5, 2000.

She graduated from high school. She moved to Clinton, Okla., in 1950, and to Florence in 1951. She had lived in Eugene since 1972.

She owned a ceramics business. She enjoyed music, ceramics, painting and spending time with her family. She belonged to Bethany Church of Franklin.

Survivors include three children, Mike and Kim, both of Eugene, and Ted of Waldport; a sister, Grace Beier of Eugene; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sons, Kenneth and John, died previously.

Saturday's service will be at 1 p.m. in Bethany Church of Franklin at 92078 Territorial Road in Cheshire.

Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Jeanne Smith

SPRINGFIELD - The graveside funeral will be held June 9 for Jeanne Smith of Springfield, who died June 4 of heart failure. She was 67.

Smith was born Oct. 6, 1937, in McCleary, Wash., to Bill and Margaret Hinman. She married Leon Smith on March 2, 1957, in Reno, Nev.

She graduated from Elma High School in 1955 in Elma, Wash. She had lived in Springfield for 50 years and previously lived in McCleary. A homemaker, she had worked as a nurse's aide and a telephone operator. She was an avid NASCAR fan and also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, embroidery, Garfield collectibles and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Marla McKean and Lynda Smith, both of Springfield, and Lisa Hartlauer of Las Vegas; a brother, Carroll Turner of Eugene; a sister, Janet Duffy of Rochester, Wash.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.

Thursday's service will be at 2 p.m. in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Eugene.

Buell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Cancer Society.

John Nordella

A celebration of life will be held June 29 for John Rowe Nordella of Eugene, who died May 30 of heart failure. He was 56.

Nordella was born May 8, 1949, in Los Angeles, to John and Mercedes Thompson Nordella. He married Madeleine Lubert on July 19, 1975, in Los Angeles.

He lived in Encinitas, Calif., from 1974 to 1989. An antiques dealer, he had lived in Eugene for the past 16 years. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed playing guitar and writing music.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Michelle and Kristine, both of Eugene, and Leslie of Portland; and a brother, Tim of Frazier Park, Calif.

The June 29 informal gathering will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 191 Park Ave. in Eugene.

Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Ariel Hutchins

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be June 8 for Ariel Weltha Drew Hutchins of Springfield, who died June 5 of age-related causes. She was 88.

She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Eureka, Calif., to John and Bertha Truesdell McClaskey. She married George "Bill" Hutchins in Arcata, Calif., on Aug. 24, 1945. He died March 14, 1985.

She and her husband owned Arcata Moving & Storage for many years. She lived in Arcata and Eureka before moving to Springfield in January 2003.

Hutchins enjoyed traveling, reading, writing, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and Amaranth in Eureka. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Arcata.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Brazelton of Fall Creek; a son, John of Paso Robles, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Wednesday's service will be at 11 a.m. at Pierce Chapel, 707 H St. in Eureka.

Buell Funeral Chapel, Springfield, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners' Children's Hospital.
