Marjorie Rainy

The funeral will be held April 14 for Marjorie M. Rainy of Eugene, who died April 9 of Alzheimer's disease. She was 75.

Rainy was born March 1, 1929, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to Alfred and Maybelle Johnson Standley. She married Orville McCurdy in Dufur on Feb. 3, 1948. They later divorced. She married Marvin Rainy in Springfield on Feb. 14, 1976.

She moved to Oregon from Wisconsin in 1943 and settled in Springfield in 1948.

She graduated from Dufur High School and from Lane Community College.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 19 years. She also worked as a registrar with the Lane County vital records department.

She was a member of the Springfield Faith Center, the Daisy Chainers Square Dance Club and the McKenzie A's Model A Club. She enjoyed sewing, all sorts of handcrafts and collecting porcelain dolls.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert McCurdy of Maple Valley, Wash., Darrell McCurdy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Gary Rainy of Port Townsend, Wash.; two daughters, Cathy Baxley of Port Townsend and Connie Reese of Eugene; three brothers, Gordon Standley of San Diego, William Standley of Portland and J.D. Standley of Las Vegas; a sister, Irene Mead of Dufur; and seven grandchildren. Two sons, Steven and Larry, died previously.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Wednesday's service will be at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Faith Center with burial following at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens in Eugene.

Musgrove Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cascade Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Darlene Norton

Darlene L. Norton of Eugene died April 8 at the age of 68. Her family chose not to list the cause of death.

Norton was born May 24, 1935, in Aberdeen, Wash., to Ivan Wright and Della Hubert. She married Gerald Geyer in Aberdeen, on Oct. 23, 1954. He later died. She married John Norton in Albuquerque, N.M., on June 23, 1978. He also died previously.

She graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen in 1953. She lived in Aberdeen for 60 years and moved to Eugene in 1999.

She was a homemaker and worked in hotel and restaurant management. She enjoyed reading and sewing.

Survivors include her stepmother, Helen Wright of Richland, Wash.; four daughters, Teri Hetterley of Haines, Dorthea of Arizona, Kathryn Morrison of Kissimmee, Fla., and Susan Geyer of Springfield; two sons, Marc Geyer of Reno, Nev., and Gerald Geyer of Aberdeen; and three sisters, Gloria Goldsmith and Cheryl Nazer, both of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Linda Robertson of Richland. A daughter, Marckellen Pitts, died in 1989.

No service is planned. Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a diabetes foundation.

Kip Bellah

VENETA - A memorial service will be held April 18 for Kip Allan Bellah of Veneta, who died April 6 of congestive heart failure. He was 48.

Bellah was born April 10, 1955, in North Bend to William and Phyllis Tyberg Bellah.

He lived almost all of his life in North Bend except for a short time in Portland. He moved to Veneta in 2003.

He graduated from North Bend High School in 1973. He received a master's degree in social work from Eastern Washington University in 1993.

He was employed as a social worker with the Coquille Indian Tribe. He also counseled dialysis and hospice patients.

He enjoyed working out and playing with children and dogs. He especially enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include two brothers, Jeff of Phoenix and Tim of St. Helens; and a sister, Jill Myers of Veneta.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. April 18 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Eugene.

Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
