FLORENCE - The funeral will be June 17 for Katherine Millard Hale of Florence, who died June 14 at age 81. Her family chose not to list the cause of death.
Hale was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Red Bluff, Calif., to William and Bena Brauner Millard. She married Stan Hale in 1942.
She enjoyed working with horses at the Santa Inez Stables in California and rode horses with her family from Astoria to Klamath Falls.
Hale returned to Oregon to care for her mother until her death.
Other interests included fishing and watching TV.
Survivors include a daughter, Rowla Stiles of California; a brother, Bill Millard of Florence; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her husband died previously.
Tuesday's service will be at 2 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield.
A graveside service will be held June 18 for Stella Margaret Robinson of Eugene, who died June 13 of age-related causes. She was 80.
She was born April 12, 1923, in Siltcoos to Grover and Effie McChesney Slayter. She married Richard Robinson. He died March 31, 2003.
She worked in administration at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland. In her earlier career, she and her sister, Virginia, were featured singers on a local Christian radio station. She also sang with a country-western band. She moved to Eugene in the early 1980s.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Beckwith of Canada and Norla Hansen of Portland; a son, Ethan Hansen of Portland; a brother, Dale Slayter of Bonanza; two sisters, Shirley Hampton of Eugene and Virginia Merner of Atlantic, Iowa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Wednesday's service will be at 1 p.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene.
The memorial service will be June 17 for Pearl E. Hipp of Eugene, who died June 12 of age-related causes. She was 86.
She was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Central City, Iowa, to Ira and Elizabeth Hosking Johnson. She married Lynn Hipp in Winnemucca, Nev., on Oct. 14, 1959. He died Jan. 8, 1983.
Hipp moved from Iowa to Nampa, Idaho, in 1948, then moved to Fontana, Calif., in 1955 and Eugene in 1959. She returned to Nampa in 1963 and lived in Altadena, Calif., and Madras before returning to Eugene in 1969.
She was a seamstress who worked for Goodwill. She did alterations, made costumes for dolls, made drapes and reupholstered furniture.
Her interests included yard sales. She was a past member of Irving Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Erma McArdle of Eugene; a son, Huburt Phipps of Boardman; three brothers, Walter Johnson of Yerma, Calif., Creighton Johnson of Moline, Ill., and Ralph Johnson of Clarinda, Iowa; a sister, Etta Belle Roberts of Lakeside; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great- grandchildren. Three grandchildren, Ricky Douglas King and David LeRae King, both of Nampa, and Dammond Howard of Eugene, died previously.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene. Tuesday's service will be at 3 p.m. at Skinner Butte Park. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Chapel of Memories Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
