Rollie Engeman

JUNCTION CITY - A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. June 2 at Irving Grange for Rollie Lynn Engeman of Junction City, who died May 12 of a intracranial hemorrhage. He was 53.

He was born Oct. 31, 1958, in Eugene to Emmett and Shirley Forquer Engeman.

He graduated from Willamette High School in 1977. He worked as a farmer as a young man and later owned a feed store in Cottage Grove. He then became a millworker in the family business.

Survivors include a son, Tony of Eugene; two sisters, Leona Klopp and Rita Collins, both of Eugene; and one grandchild.

Arrangements by Alpha Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene. Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice.

Frances Moore

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Springfield for Frances Moore of Springfield, who died May 16 of age-related causes. She was 92.

She was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Coos River to Andy and Edith Rooke Kardell. She married Earl Moore on Oct. 29, 1940, in Reedsport. He died Feb. 1, 2009.

She graduated from Reedsport High School and from Payette Beauty College in Idaho in 1963. She was a homemaker and for a short time owned and operated a beauty shop in Rosalia, Wash.

Survivors include two sons, Myrl of Veneta and Andy of Big Piney, Wyo.; a daughter, Diane Anders of Eugene; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Donald Moore, died Sept. 9, 2001.

Burial will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association.

Virtress Oakes

Virtress JoAnn Oakes of Eugene died May 14 of cancer. She was 71. No service is planned.

She was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Eugene to Ray and Edna Michael Nicklin.

She worked as a cash ier at Safeway and also managed the Dari Mart Store in Junction City for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Ken of Beaverton, Rick of Eugene and Tony of Harrisburg; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Lawrence Pagter

Lawrence "Larry" Pagter of Eugene, died May 15 of age-related causes. He was 88. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

He was born March 24, 1924, in Republic, Wash., to Lawrence and Beulah Kinsey Pagter. He married Virginia Bruckart in 1949 in Eugene. She died in 2001.

He graduated from Oregon State University in 1948 with a degree in forestry and a minor in chemistry. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and for 20 years in the naval reserve. He worked as a forester and was the owner- manager of rental properties.

Survivors include two sons, Peter of Eugene and John of Coburg; a daughter, Shelley Coleman of Eugene; a sister, Mary Jean Pagter of Eugene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private inurnment will be held at Eugene Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Eugene Downtown Lions Club or Oregon State University Athletic Department.

Julio Sanchez

SPRINGFIELD - Julio Sanchez of Springfield died May 14 of lung cancer. He was 55.

He was born Aug. 7, 1956, in Los Angeles to Julio and Edith Keller Sanchez.

He attended college and served in the Army Rangers He worked a contractor and painter and later as a restaurant manager.

Survivors include two sons, Julio Jr. of Eugene and Tyler of Springfield; a daughter, Megan Sanchez of Springfield; a sister, Kathy Dowell of Salem; and three grandchildren.

Robert Still

CRESWELL - Robert A. Still of Creswell died May 15 of age-related causes. He was 90. No service is planned.

He was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Alberta, Canada, to James and Mary Gallaher Still. He married Lorraine Battey on Aug. 24, 1946, in Portland.

He graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in science in 1948. He received his teaching degree from Walla Walla College in 1965 and his master's degree in inner disciplinary studies from the University of Oregon.

He served in the Navy as a hospital corpsman in the South Pacific during World War II. He farmed for 16 years, raising wheat, peas and cattle, and did amateur rodeo. He taught middle school at Pleasant Hill in 1965 and 1966 and middle school in Veneta from 1966 until he retired in 1992.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary of Eugene; two sisters, Janet Buchanan of Walla Walla, Wash., and Agnes Goodman of Kennewick, Wash.; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Doris Teague

SPRINGFIELD - Doris Mable Teague of Springfield died May 16 of apraxia. She was 82. No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Carlton to Ben and Elnora "Nora" Benscoter Bishop. She married N.L. "Pat" Teague on Aug. 8, 1952, in Carlton. He died in July 2004.

She was a graduate of Carlton High School.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Fuller of Astoria and Michelle Teague of Springfield; a sister, Jennie Helvie of McMinnville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Betty Williams

Betty L. Williams of Eugene died May 17 of cancer. She was 82. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.

She was born June 27, 1929, in McMinnville to Robert and Sarah Kau Brown. She married Eugene Williams on April 15, 1955, in Eugene. He died in August 1984.

She held a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and a master's degree from the University of Denver. She worked for Oregon Children Services Division and retired as a regional manager.

Survivors include three sons, Stephen of Bend, Ronald of Myrtle Creek and Richard Williams of Oakland; a brother, Robert Brown of Portola Valley, Calif.; a sister, Martha Falkenstein of Eugene; and three grandchildren.
