Matthew Bartling

SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield for Matthew David Bartling of Springfield, who died Jan. 7 of obstructive cardiomyopathy. He was 14.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield.

He was born Nov. 25, 1997, in Eugene.

He was in the eighth grade.

Survivors include his parents, David and Elizabeth Bartling; and a sister, Ann Bartling of Mission Viejo, Calif.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to the Springfield Public Library.

Pete Holmes

JUNCTION CITY - The funeral will be at noon Friday, Jan. 13, at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Funeral Home & Crematorium in Eugene for William "Pete" Holmes of Junction City, who died Jan. 3 of age- related causes. He was 87.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1924, in South Greenfield, Mo., to Clyde and Mable Tucker Holmes. He married Evelyn Phillips on June 30, 1974, in Reno, Nev. She died June 11, 2011.

He served as a private in the Army in the Pacific theater during World War II. He was a millworker.

Survivors include three stepsons, Randal Thomas of Springfield, Robert Thomas of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Glen Thomas of Eugene; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son, Lynn Holmes, and stepson, Dennis Thomas, died previously.

Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Eugene.

Marjorie Lewis

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in Peoria, Ariz., for Marjorie Stratford Lewis of Arizona, former 54-year resident of Eugene, who died Jan. 6 of age-related causes. She was 91.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Peoria, with burial at 10 a.m. Jan. 16 at Finley-Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland.

She was born April 24, 1920, in Ogden, Utah, to Lucile and Howard Stratford.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan Brock of Las Vegas, Carol Brew ster of Peoria and Diane Anderson of Wilmington, Ohio; a son, Rich of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Betty Barney of Logan, Utah; 16 grand children; 48 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. One grandson died previously.

Laura Littlejohn

HARRISBURG - A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Eugene for Laura Marie Littlejohn of Harris burg, who died Jan. 10 of lung cancer. She was 74.

She was born July 20, 1937, in Portland to Edwin and Eunice Wilder-Bish Dewees. She married Franklin Littlejohn on Dec. 20, 1958, in Springfield.

She graduated from Coburg High School in 1955 and from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts degree in social sciences in 1959. She worked for three years for Christian Family Services in Eugene and for eight years at Consumer Credit Counseling in Eugene, both as a receptionist and secretary. She worked as church librarian at Thurston Christian Church and Harrisburg Christian Church for more than 40 years.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Laurinda Pool of Richmond, Ken., and Tracy Stephens of Springfield; two sons, Tim and Eric, both of Harrisburg; two siblings; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Sunset Hills Cemetery, Funeral Home & Crematorium in Eugene. Remembrances to Harrisburg Christian Church or God's Storehouse in Harrisburg.

Brady McClain

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the White Oak Pavilion at Mount Pisgah Arboretum in Eugene for Brady James McClain of Springfield, who died Jan. 6 at age 26. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

He was born June 27, 1985, in Eugene to Steven McClain and Deborah Scott. He married Johnna Young on Sept. 12, 2009, in Springfield.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Portland State University in 2008. He worked for PeaceHealth and in the information technology industry.

Survivors include his wife; his mother and stepfather, Deborah Scott and Bill Baslaugh; his father and stepmother, Steven and Cathy McClain; grand parents Cliff and Lonnie McClain; and two brothers, Jeff and Jareb.

Rochelle McInnis

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the United Lutheran Church in Eugene for Rochelle Kristine McInnis of Eugene, who died Dec. 10 of an accidental overdose. She was 40.

She was born June 9, 1971, in Antioch, Calif., to John and Pamela Hardin McInnis.

She graduated from Northwest Christian University with a bachelor's degree in communications. She worked as an office specialist.

Survivors include her domestic partner, Kimberly McCall; her father; a sister, April Rogers of Deadwood; a brother, John of California; and several stepsiblings.

Arrangements by Alpha Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Buckley House in Eugene.

Minnie Nakamura

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Minnie A. Nakamura of Eugene, who died Jan. 9 of age-related causes. She was 91.

She was born June 13, 1920, in Denver to Austin and Minnie Smith Fanshier. She married Paul Nakamura on Nov. 16, 1962, in Reno, Nev.

She graduated from high school. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Dianne Garza of Eugene and Claudette Gumina of Antioch, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A granddaughter, Jeanette Thompson, died in 1965.

Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice.

Arlene Nesary

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Santa Clara Seventh-day Adventist Church in Eugene for Arlene Fipps Nesary of Eugene, who died Jan. 9 of complications following a stroke. She was 91.

A graveside service is planned for later in Kennewick, Wash.

She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Henry and Minnie Tucker Fipps. She married Marvin Nesary on May 16, 1945, in Yakima, Wash. He died Nov. 15, 1997.

She attended schools in Lenapah, Kan. She worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone for about 20 years. She retired in 1985.

Survivors include a son, Ronald of Cary, N.C.; two daughters, Marlene Nesary of Eugene and Carolyn Fay of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Lorene Trussell of Brooks; a brother, Charles "Orvan" Fipps of Springfield; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Michael Leroy, died in 1956.

Inurnment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, Wash. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to FOOD for Lane County.

Gloria Pittock

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Thurston Community Baptist Church in Springfield for Gloria Anne Pittock of Eugene, who died Jan. 10 of age-related causes. She was 90.

She was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Grants Pass to Thomas and Laura Jordan Pittock.

She attended Grants Pass Grade School and graduated from Medford High School in 1939. She attended the San Diego School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary and for Lockheed Aircraft during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Wally Fichtner of Tigard, Daniel Fichtner of Newcastle, Calif., and William Fichtner of Templeton, Calif.; a daughter, Gayla Anne of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A great-grandson, Calvin Lewis Campbell, died previously.

Burial will be at Jacksonville Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Easter Seals..

Esther Snyder

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Esther "Gammy" Snyder of Eugene, who died Jan. 6 of age-related causes. She was 94.

She was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Niellsville, Wis., to Peter and Helene Gulliksen Hagen. She married Paul Snyder on June 6, 1938, in Wisconsin. He died previously.

She attended schools in Wisconsin. She worked for Agripac and was a Christmas tree grower and homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Helayne of Eugene; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Remembrances to the Eugene Mission.

Tre West-Barnes-Hayes

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at The Boulders community room in Eugene for Tre West-Barnes-Hayes of Eugene, who died Jan. 1 of complications related to kidney failure. She was 56.

She was born Jan. 21, 1955, in Portland to Donald and Barbara Elliot West. She married Gilbert "Gib" Hayes on July 11, 1997, in Eugene.

She graduated from high school in Montana. She worked as a fashion model, in furniture sales in California and at Riley's Waterbeds in Eugene, as an office manager, at Oregon Brands pet foods, as a waitress and as an herbalist.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, now of Eugene; and a brother, Mark West of Eugene.
