Byline: The Register-Guard

Alice Badley

Alice J. Badley of Dallas, Ore., formerly of Lane County, died Oct. 7 at age 87. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

A family service will be held later.

She was born Sept. 20, 1922, in San Francisco, to Morris and Eleanor Frank. She married Owen Badley on July 15, 1942.

She was an aquatic arthritis class instructor and homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Kim of Springfield; a daughter, Kaye Hauk of Monmouth; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her husband died previously.

Arrangements by Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Remembrances to Aquatic Arthritis Class at YWCA in Klamath Falls.

Lester Blackmore

Lester Wheeler Blackmore of Springfield died Oct. 3 of age-related causes. He was 87. No service is planned.

He was born April 27, 1922, in Cottage Grove, to Orlin and Nellie Thessen Blackmore.

He married Helen Summers in 1945 in Eugene. They later divorced. He married Bonne Bourland in 1972, in Reno, Nev.

He was a logger for most of his life. In later years, he managed a motel with his wife, Bonne, and was a bartender for the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Phil and Greg Blackmore, both of Cottage Grove, Jerry Blackmore of Alaska, Leslie Blackmore of Oakland and Brian Blackmore of Nyssa; a daughter, Sherri Blackmore of Cottage Grove; a stepson, John Bourland of Cottage Grove; a stepdaughter, Linda Mullins of Cottage Grove; and 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Joanie Blackmore, died in 1960, and a granddaughter, Shani Strickland, died in 2001.

Lillian Kirkpatrick

Lillian Kirkpatrick of Portland, formerly of Eugene, died Sept. 28 of age-related causes. She was 94. A graveside service at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene has been held.

She was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Rainy River, Ontario, to Ludvig and Anna Nesset Haug. She married Dale Kirkpatrick May 29, 1936, in Wisconsin. He died March 20, 1995.

She graduated high school in Black River Falls, Wisc. She worked as a cook at South Eugene High School.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Kirkpatrick of Portland and John Kirkpatrick of Eugene; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Hubert, died in 1995.

Arrangements by Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.

Sally Ostrom

Sally Leora Lee Ostrom of Thayer, Mo., formerly of Junction City, died Sept. 28 of complications from pneumonia. She was 86. A funeral in West Plains, Mo., has been held.

She was born March 12, 1923, in Prairie Grove, Ark., to James and Effie Ledford Wood. She married William Ostrom Nov. 30, 1968, in Eugene.

She was a homemaker and worked in the restaurant business for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Eddy Wood of Junction City; two daughters, Gail Fletcher of Eugene and Sheryl Shipp of Junction City; a brother, Thurmon Wood of Springfield; a sister, Bessie Remington of Prairie Grove; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Stauffer Walker

CRESWELL - A fun-eral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene for Dorothy Hill Stauffer Walker of Creswell, who died Oct. 5 of age-related causes. She was 94.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service.

She was born Oct. 19, 1914, in Burr, Mo., to William and Ida Mock Hill. She married Lewis Christian Stauffer on Oct. 10, 1936, in Doniphan, Mo.

She taught elementary school in Missouri and then worked in insurance claims in San Diego.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Stauffer of San Diego and Chris Edmisten of Dexter; two daughters, Virginia Warner of Creswell and Carolyn Nelson of Chandler, Ariz.; and six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her husband and great-grandson, Christopher Edmisten,died previously.

Peggy Wilkinson

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Eugene for Peggy M. Wilkinson of Eugene, who died Oct. 9 of kidney failure. She was 66.

She was born July 16, 1943, in Eugene to Ralph and Mary Paseman Campbell Sr. She married Jesse O. Wilkinson on Aug. 10, 1962, in Junction City. They later divorced.

She was a beautician in Eugene-Springfield and Alaska for 27 years, and worked for ShopKo for 20 years.

Survivors include her mother of Junction City; a daughter, Norma Bird of Marshall, Mo.; a brother, Ralph Campbell Jr., of Rogue River; and a granddaughter.

Burial at West Lawn Memorial Park will fol-low the funeral service. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society or to Greenhill Huname Society.

Gertrude Young

Gertrude Mary Young of Redding, Calif., formerly of Lane County, died Oct. 2 of age-related causes. She was 95. A memorial service and inurnment at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene will be in the spring.

She was born Dec. 17, 1913, in Darby, Mont., to Fred and Reba LaLonde Madison. She married Gene Young on Nov. 1, 1932, in Chinook, Mont. He died Sept. 29, 1974.

She was a homemaker and a part-time postal worker in Fall Creek.

Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Ross of Eugene and Patricia Carlson of Shasta Lake, Calif.; two brothers, Allen and Ted Madison, both of Washington; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Mc-Donald's Chapel in Redding.
