Byline: The Register-Guard

Milo Griswold

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 22 at Peoples Church in Salem for Milo "Mike" James Griswold of Springfield, who died Aug. 9 of age-related causes. He was 86. Inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

He was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Waldport to Frederick and Florence Griswold. He married Frances Mobley on Feb. 21, 1947, in Alabama. He later married Sally Lemon on Aug. 2, 1997, in Eugene.

He attended Oregon State University and graduated from OTI in Klamath Falls in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy as a chief machinist mate during World War II. He was the owner of Mike's Electric in McMinnville from 1952 to 1994. He was an electrical contractor who retired in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Sally, of Springfield; sons Jim of Vancouver, Wash., Mark of Lyons and Jon of Forest Grove, Mich.; a daughter, Beth Phillips of Junction City; stepsons John Sutton of Springfield, Jerry Sutton of Dayton and Joe Sutton of McMinnville; brothers C.W. of Springfield and Fred of Pleasant Hill; a sister, Rhoda Wray of Coburg; and 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. His wife Frances Griswold died in March 1997 and grandsons Richard Brandt and Tim Griswold died previously.

Billy Hutchinson

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at First Congregational Church of Eugene for Billy Earl Hutchinson of Eugene, who died Aug. 4 of a degenerative neurological condition. He was 82.

He was born April 7, 1927, in Eugene to Earl and Bernice Soward Hutchinson. He married Nancy Heisler on Sept. 10, 1949, in Santa Barbara, Calif.

He graduated from the University of Oregon and was a four-sport letterman at Eugene High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Guam after World War II. He was a partner in the family business, Hutch's Bicycle Store, opening stores in Springfield, Bend, Lake Oswego and Portland that he later gave to his employees.

Survivors include his wife, of Eugene; daughters Gayle Hutchinson and Sue Hutchinson Carey, both of Eugene, and Bobbie Jansen of Albany; brothers Lloyd of Eugene and Jim of Bend; a sister, JoAnn Zumwalt of Bend; and three grandchildren.

Kenton Keith

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at Falcon Wood Village Clubhouse of Eugene for Kenton Paul "Ken" Keith of Eugene, who died Aug. 6 of complications from prior aortic repair. He was 72.

He was born July 26, 1937, in Riverside, Calif., to A. Clinton and Katharine Jones Keith. He married Lynne Blatter on June 25, 1959, in Riverside. They divorced in 1972.

He graduated from the University of California-Riverside in 1976 with a degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Army during the 1960s. He was an insurance auditor for Equifax International.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathi Boothby of Fontana, Calif.; a son, Kevin Keith of Fresno, Calif.; a brother, Robert Keith of Florida; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.

Stevie Readen

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Dunes Memorial Chapel in Reedsport for Stevie Noelle Readen of Dyersburg, Tenn., formerly of Reedsport, who died Aug. 2 at age 15. The family chose not to list the cause of death. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

She was born Jan. 26, 1994, in Reedsport to Jessica Thornhill Readen. Survivors include her mother and stepfather Charles Readen; grandparents Chuck and Tanya Readen and Lonnie Strickland; brothers Charlie and Cody Readen and Brock Yankey; and sisters Ashley, Ariana and Aundrea Readen.

Arrangements by Dunes Memorial Chapel.

Pilar Sosa

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eugene for Pilar "Pete" Sosa of Eugene, who died Aug. 9 of age-related causes. He was 82. There will be a private burial.

He was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Sinton, Texas, to Adolfo and Tula Padron Sosa.

He married Janice Boyd on April 17, 1956, in Eugene.

He earned a general education diploma. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years. He was a custodian in the Eugene School District for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; daughters Elizabeth Moreno of Bakersfield, Calif., Estela Henderson of Bakersfield, Janielle Lipscomb of Tigard, Theresa Sosa of Eugene, Patricia Hemphill of San Diego and Alicia Shaw of Beaverton; sons Richard of Bakersfield, Tony of Kent, Wash., Chuck of Spanaway, Wash., and Joseph of San Bernardino, Calif.; sisters Rebecca Munoz and Frances Bernal, both of Bakersfield, and Margaret Palacio of Pomona, Calif.; a brother, Adolph of Tehachapi, Calif.; and 34 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to Make-a-Wish Foundation.
