Dexter Henderson

The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Drain Assembly of God for Dexter Henderson of Loveland, Colo., formerly of Drain, who died May 25, of cancer. He was 73.

He was born Oct. 7, 1933, in Richton, Miss., to William and Laura Morris Henderson. He married Helen Alsup on Oct. 10, 1956, in Drain.

He was a senior master sergeant in the Air Force until 1972. He worked for the Oregon Department of Human Resources, Senior and Disabled Services Division.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Angie Ambert of Corvallis and Tammy Brinlee of Bend; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at East Drain City Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.

Cleta Miller

Cleta I. Miller of Eugene died May 23 of breast cancer at age 51. No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 29, 1955, in Gravette, Ark., to Forrest and Irene Charles McCool. She married Melvin Young on March 3, 1973, and they were divorced after five years. She married Monte Miller on Dec. 16, 1978, in Reno, Nev.

She worked in accounting and office management.

Survivors include her husband; her parents; a daughter, Shannon Clark of Eugene; a son, Melvin Young II of Eugene; two sisters, Linda Williams of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Charlotte Babineau of Galena, Kan.; two brothers, William McCool and Mark McCool, both also of Galena; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ruth Myrick

Ruth Ann Myrick of Scappoose, formerly of the Eugene area, died May 22 of age-related causes at age 79. No service is planned.

She was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Lebanon to Virgil and Eva Grisham Childs. She married Charles Myrick on May 4, 1947, in Albany.

She graduated from Albany High School in 1945. She worked as a cook for the Eugene School District for 25 years, retiring as head cook.

Survivors include a son, Rodney of Warren; and two grandchildren. Her husband died in 1979.

Private inurnment will be in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Arrangements by Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens.

Arlene Nesler

HARRISBURG - Arlene Nesler of Harrisburg died April 30 of age-related causes at age 79.

She was born June 3, 1927, in La Crosse, Wis., to Thomas and Alice Cox Conniff. She married Earl Nesler on March 5, 1949, in La Crosse. He died in 1975.

She worked as a home health aide and also had worked for a Target store.

Survivors include two sons, Earl of Harrisburg and Randy of Hartford, Iowa; two daughters, Patricia Tilton of Des Moines, Iowa, and Kimberly Nesler of Harrisburg; two sisters, Marvella Wagner and Gertrude Waldron, both of La Crosse; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Iowa. Arrangements by Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines.
