A memorial service will be held May 31 for Jami Lynn Oshiro of Eugene, who died May 25 of undetermined causes. She was 35.
She was born Aug. 23, 1969, in Okinawa, Japan, to Thomas Oshiro Jr. and Jeanne Young Wong. She lived in Eugene for the past 15 years and previously lived in Honolulu.
Oshiro graduated from the University of Oregon. She worked in social services and did volunteer work.
She loved music and produced a compact disc. She enjoyed animals and was an avid photographer. She was a member of the Eugene Buddhist Priory.
Survivors include her parents of Honolulu; a stepmother, Patricia; and two brothers, Nick and Chris Wong.
Tuesday's service will be at 4 p.m. at the Eugene Buddhist Priory, 85415 Teague Loop. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
OAKRIDGE - A memorial service will be held June 3 for DeLoyd "Dell" W. Lane of Oakridge, who died May 27 of a stroke. He was 79.
He was born July 2, 1925, in Hopewell, Kan., to Henry and Viola Coach Lane. He married Darlene Nelson in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 11, 1948.
He lived in various cities in California before moving to Lane County 33 years ago.
Lane was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Dell Lane Trenching.
He enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, helping others and studying the Bible.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shari Randles of Fort Worth, Texas; a son, Randy of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Donald and Norman, both of Lebanon; five grandchildren; and two great-grand- children.
Friday's service will be at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Oakridge. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrange- ments.
A celebration of life will be held June 4 for Janice "Jan" Elaine Gabriel of Eugene, who died May 20 of a heart attack. She was 55.
She was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Corvallis to I. Lewis and Margaret Studach Hales. She married Fletcher Gabriel in Corvallis on Nov. 29, 1965. They later divorced.
She lived in Corvallis and Portland before moving to Eugene a year ago.
Gabriel was employed as an emergency medical technician at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis and at Pacific Hospital in Newport. She also worked at Oregon Medical Laboratories.
She enjoyed glass fusion designs, travel and spending time with friends.
Survivors include her ex-husband; her mother; a son, Jacques of Burnt Woods; four brothers, Raymond of Houston, Allen of Corvallis, Michael of Holt, Mich., and Walter of Albany; and three sisters, Lorene Hales of Corvallis, Pamela Bellevance of Thompson, Conn., and Michelle Jumbeck of Yuma, Ariz.
Saturday's service will be at 11 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Corvallis. Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam, Conn., is in charge of arrangements.
SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held June 3 for Helen Sybil Rothrock of Springfield, who died May 28 of a stroke. She was 84.
She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Miles City, Mont., to William and Gladys Fellers Light. She married Arthur A. Rothrock on June 14, 1941. He died in 2000.
She lived in Portland from 1950 to 2000, when she moved to Springfield.
Rothrock received a degree from Portland State University. She worked as a school secretary, teacher, writer and Realtor.
Rothrock enjoyed travel, singing and spending time with family members. She was a member of the University Park United Methodist Church and the Soroptimists.
Survivors include a daughter, Minx Ravenwood of Eugene; three sons, Philip of Portland, and Lee and Randy, both of Springfield; two brothers, Joseph Light of Eugene and Richard Light of Crooked River Ranch; a sister, Cleo Weyand of Lebanon; five grandchildren; and five great-grand- children.
Friday's service will be at 11 a.m. at the University Park United Methodist Church in Portland. England's Eugene Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held June 1 for Anne Teresa Hampton of Eugene, who died May 27 of age-related causes. She was 96.
She was born April 30, 1909, in Wilson, Kan. She married Ralph G. Hampton in Sturgis, S.D., on Aug. 4, 1935. He died Aug. 24, 2002.
She graduated from Black Hills State Teachers College and was employed as a school- teacher.
Hampton enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, golf and travel. She was a member of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Bills of Eugene; a sister, Edna Dahl of Spearfish, S.D.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two sons, Dean of Pittsburgh and Don of Ridgefield, Wash., died previously.
Wednesday's service will be at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Lane Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
