OAPEC holds Symposium on Global Financial Crisis in Damascus.

Damascus, (SANA) _ The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) will hold Monday a symposium in the Dedeman Hotel in Damascus.The two-day symposium will discuss the global financial crisis and its repercussions on the sectors of oil and natural gas with the participation of a number of experts from the OAPEC member states, and some Arab and international organizations, in addition to the centers concerned in energy affairs.The symposium will also discuss the direct effect of the global financial crisis on oil markets with regard to the low demand, in addition to the decrease in oil prices and its revenues in the Arab countries which export oil and the deterioration in the economic growth rate.Repercussions of the crisis on energy investment in the Arab countries in general and the whole world and future expectations of oil demand from Arab exporting countries will be also discussed in the symposium.R.
