OAP robbed in own home.

POLICE were last night hunting two thugs who robbed a 78 year-old man in his own home, it emerged last night.

The hooded men knocked on the door of the property in Linden Road, Smethwick, and then barged past the pensioner.

Once inside, one thug held him to the floor while an accomplice ransacked the house.

Both men fled with an unconfirmed amount of cash.

Police last night said the victim was not hurt but was left very shaken by the raid, which happened on August 7.

The offenders are described as black and aged 20 to 25. One is approximately 5ft 6ins tall of medium build, while the other was reckoned to be 5ft 10ins.

Both thugs were wearing dark-coloured jackets, trousers and hoods which masked their faces. They also wore beige surgical gloves. Anyone with information should call the police on 0845 113 5000.
