OAP pushed over in street for her purse.

AN ELDERLY woman was injured after a cowardly thief pushed her over in broad daylight and stole her purse.

The incident took place in Holyhead on Thursday with police launching an appeal for any witnesses.

The victim of the robbery, which took place on the junction of Kingsland Road and Arthur Street, was an elderly woman who had her purse stolen which contained a quantity of cash. She required treatment at the scene.

The suspect is described as being a white male, approximately 5' 8" tall, and was wearing dark clothing with a dark hooded top, which covered his head.

Detective Chief Inspector Iestyn Davies said: "This was a cowardly attack on a frail and vulnerable old lady who was walking home. She was attacked in broad daylight on a busy street by a man who threw her to the ground."
