OAP duped.

A THIEF duped an elderly woman into giving out her PIN by pretending he was her bank manager.

The man stole her handbag from her car outside her house in Street Ashton near Rugby yesterday morning.

He later rang to say someone had tried to use the card and that he needed the PIN for security reasons. The OAP disclosed the number and the thief withdrew pounds 300 from her account before dumping the handbag at the junction of the A45 and M45 near Dunchurch.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said: "You should never disclose your PIN. Banks will never ever ask for it."
