O'Reilly ships Java Threads, Third Edition.

Publisher O'Reilly has released 'Java Threads, Third Edition' by Scott Oaks and Henry Wong.

According to the publisher, the book shows readers how to take full advantage of Java's threading facilities, bringing them up to date to the changes in J2SE 5.0. The third edition of the book is reportedly expanded and revised and includes the concurrency utilities from java.util.concurrent while new chapters cover thread performance, using threads with Swing, threads and Collection classes, thread pools, and threads and I/O (traditional, new, and interrupted). Those developers who cannot yet implement J2SE 5.0 can apparently use thread utilities provided in the appendix to achieve similar functionality with earlier versions of Java.

The book has a recommended price of USD39.95.
